This anime is about a takumi who help his father sent (food that is soft)tao fu...up the hill of AKina every mornig using an old car call AE86 since he was age of 13.. too make sure the tao fu din't smash each other during the journey to the top of akina....his father palce a cup beside the driver sit...if the water split out from the cup...that means the tau fu is smash...so takumi has ben helping his father for 4 years...he got a friend...that is carzy in cars and about racing... one day a famous racing car group(REDSUN) came and challange the racers in Akina that is related to takumi friend..the leader of Akina was injured during practice and unable to take pst in the race...so he begged takumi father to take his place since he was a very well known and unbeaten driver during his younge age. Takumi father sent his takumi to do the work...During the race everone was shock not only the car he drive and also he was youngest in all the drivers... Takumi won the race...it had became a big impact to redsun and draw many drivers attention to beat the takumi...This anime is also about the life that takumi experience with racing and his girl friend...

THe car look real in intial d.. the drawing is nice...and is getting better every newer version
the characters look cool especially takumi...he look quite dump but he is dangerouse driver...
The main theme for this anime is mostly for car lovers....the car look the best in show if you ask me...especiallu

ENgines of the car is smilar with the one in real life...
YOu can really spot the diffrecne in the show...THe enigne sound between the Rx-7 and skyline GTR 32 you can really feel
it in the show...
during the battle scene between the soback ground music makesyou really nervous...
the break, gas, exhaust, and the friction between teh wheel and the gound is perfectly well done...
The ost is is so good that u will repeat it more than twice before you see the show....

The acade game is played by buying your own car. YOu can upgrade and modify your car. There is all type of maps..INcluding Miyogi,Akina,Usui,Akagi,Hirohazaka,Hapogara and many more.. YOu can play the map wet, dry, night or day!!!
CHallange with people can make your car level up..You can also challange the legend driver Bunta...
the time attact is always challanging...whoever have the best record for the fastes time will get thier car nam i the machine and it will stayed there until the is someone better than him
There are 3 version in the arcade...the Ps 2 version is also similar...but you have more maps...and a very cool story line for you too follow...there is also another option for you to choose and modify your car and race with the computers.
Is a must play game for initial d fans...

Hmmmm...I think you have absolutely underestimated your score with the sound. I know that you took music into account as well but when Initial D was being made and recorded, they actually did use real engine sounds as opposed to the dubbed english dvd version.
You should ummm...fix up your english because I think that your review frankly isn't too good at all, which is a shame because I like Initial D

The cars in stage 1 and 2 arent that great im not sure about stage 3 the movie.... but in those stages the cars are
computer generated which kinda... ruins is for me and its a little to dark to be able to see whats going on... lol i
have to keep moving my computer screen to even see whats going on even though my brightness is set to the higest level
i love the story, the car, and the sound(the engine , the eurobeat). also it's great game they have for arcade or for console(ps1/ps2). and for the anime, i can see the development of it, i mean from the stage 1 till 4, there are some different they did, for example as starting from the movie(if i'm not mistake)they try to combine the 3d element into 2d element, which is suits well for this anime. it's a must for car lover, drift on!
It's a fun series.
if you like racing and music then this is the anime for you. other than that the anime didn't hold any interest for me. people are entitled to their own liking of a review and giving the scores they desire, that is what makes reviews different from another :)
This probably could use some more details to characters, cars and why you would have rated it so high. I probably would have never listed it as such, but the cars were good however.
